Dear  Friends,

It is my honour to welcome you to the website of the St. Monica Catholic Women Group (SMCWG). Founded on 11th April 2025 in immaculate conception Parish – Nyondo on the 11th April 2025 under the guidance of the Sisters of Mary of Kakamega (SMK), Uganda, our group continues to grow in the spirit and vision entrusted to us by our Founder, Sr. Clare Beatrice Kasedde.

Rooted in the values of faith, service, and empowerment, SMCWG accompanies women spiritually and equips them with practical skills that strengthen families and uplift our community. Inspired by the model of St. Monica, we seek to nurture resilient, prayerful, and empowered women who can positively transform society.

As you explore our website, I invite you to learn more about our mission and walk with us in promoting spiritual renewal, women’s development, and holistic community growth.

St. Monica Catholic Women Group (SMCWG) is a Catholic women’s ministry dedicated to spiritual renewal, family strengthening, women’s empowerment, and community transformation. Established on 11th April 2025 under the guidance of the Sisters of Mary of Kakamega (SMK)- Uganda, our group responds to the spiritual and socio-economic needs of today’s woman.

We draw strength from the inspiring life of St. Monica, a model of faith, perseverance, and hope. Her devotion guides us as we work to uplift women, support families, and serve our parish and community.

🌟 WHY WE EXIST

In the 21st century, many women; especially in rural communities face challenges such as:

  • Limited access to skills training
  • Limited economic opportunities
  • Family conflicts and emotional stress
  • Spiritual dryness and lack of support
  • Poverty that affects family stability
  • Lack of opportunities for development and leadership

SMCWG exists to provide solutions.

We empower women spiritually, socially, and economically through prayer, training, counselling, and income-generating activities.
